Why is my bank, credit card or PayPal account asking for an extra code before syncing?
As a security measure, a number of financial institutions (and others) have been adopting what is commonly called 2-factor authentication. What this means is that, in addition to logging in with your email/username and password, they will occasionally ask you to confirm it's you by send a code, either by text, email or sometimes by calling you based on information you have on file with them. You are then presented with a screen asking for that code.
We have had a number of customers face some challenges with this process, largely due to things changing over time. It happens to all of us.
Should you get asked to authenticate or re-authenticate your bank, credit card or PayPal account, and they request extra verification, please make sure that the method they have on file is still current. For example, you may find that the phone number they are trying to text or call is out of date, so you never receive the required code. The same might be true of the email address they have on file. If you find that the contact information is out of date, simply update it with your bank, try re-connecting through Seller Ledger, and enter the new code they send.
